Empowering Our Young Adults

We have recently collated the impact of two of our programmes which supported young adults to develop new skills and receive qualifications to enable them to begin their career journeys. Our Coach Core apprenticeship programme and Sunderland Workforce project aimed to tackle some of the barriers young people face to gaining employment and the results can be viewed in our two Impact Reports.

Our first report highlights the work we did with Sunderland College to implement a student workforce project which had two aims. Firstly, to develop the capacity of the college to deliver physical activity opportunities to students (particularly those who were less active) and secondly to do this by training students to deliver these opportunities to their peers.

The report is available to download here.

Line up of Coach Core apprentices

The second report focuses on the completion, and impact, of the second Coach Core programme in Northumberland and Tyne & Wear which came to an end earlier in 2023. The Coach Core impact report highlights the work we're doing to deliver community sports apprenticeships to those young people who typically would face barriers to employments and provides them with an opportunity to begin their own career pathway. The Coach Core programme not only helps young people to change their own future but also to become a positive influence in their communities.
