Exciting ‘new dawn’ for growing North East charity

Leading health and wellbeing charity Rise is celebrating a period of significant growth and progress – with a new brand identity and exciting plans for the coming year.

Rise transforms lives using the power of physical activity. The charity collaborates with leading organisations across the North East, such as the NHS, universities, local authorities and schools to use the power of movement and physical activity to tackle inequalities in our communities.

Significant growth

After a merger between two organisations in 2020, the North Shields-based charity has grown significantly.

Key stats:

  • Rise has doubled the size of its workforce since 2020, from 15 to 30 – not only providing valuable jobs for local people, but increasing the breadth and depth of support available to North East organisations from a team of experts.

  • Innovation – Rise has introduced the 4-day working week for its team, leading from the front in protecting and enhancing the physical and mental health of staff.

  • Expansion – launching later this summer, a new commercial arm will provide workplace wellbeing products to help businesses support their workforce’s health and wellbeing.

  • Awards – the team has worked hard to gain accreditation for both sustainability and the wellbeing of employees. Rise now proudly holds a gold Better Health at Work Award, as well as a silver level accreditation with Investors in the Environment (iiE).

Clare Morley, CEO of Rise, said: “These are exciting times for Rise. We’ve grown and progressed significantly as an organisation since the merger in 2020. We’re growing as a team and expanding the support and expertise we provide. And, as we’ve evolved, our brand has grown and developed too. In line with this progress, we’ve developed a modern, dynamic brand that captures our new and exciting direction.”
